How will the gates be delivered?

As you probably guessed, my gates are quite heavy and will be despatched by courier. Once it is ready to be shipped I shall contact you to organise a day that is best for you to receive your gate. The courier may require your phone number to aid delivery.

What are the gates made from?

All my gates are made from FSC treated softwood timber as standard. I build my gates to be heavy duty. They are glued and pegged using exterior grade glue and 18mm oak pegs. I can build gates using other wood species if required, please contact me to discuss further.

Are the gates mass produced?

Each gate is made by me in my small workshop at my home in Lancashire. I build them one at a time in order to give each one my full concentration. Each gate takes at least one week to fully build and carve by hand.

Do you do custom designs?

As well as doing my own designs I am open to commissions. If you have an idea for a special gate please contact me and we can design one together. Commissions may require a 50% deposit before any creative work is carried out.

Will there be a waiting list?

There may be a waiting list at certain times of the year. I aim to complete an order within one month of purchase. I will let the buyer know the start date of the build. Send me a message if you have any further questions about timings.

Do I supply fixings?

Unfortunately I don not supply fixing at the moment. I can however supply gateposts if needed, please enquire. I do recommend however all fixing are weatherproof and the use of stainless steel screws.

Do you paint or varnish your gates?

I can finish your gate for you in various colours or stains. Just let me know your preferences. Even though I use treated timber I do recommend that you protect your gate with a finish.
